To host a Website you need IP address(Dynamic or Static) which you already have because you are reading this blog and Server Software like Apache or IIS and domain name.If you are using PHP and MySQL at your home computer then your computer has server installed which is either Apache or IIS. If some of you don't then should first install it from wamp.

1. Make sure that your computer has Server Software Installed :

Download Wamp(Wamp is for windows , Lamp is for Linux) according to your Operating System(Linux , Windows or MAC) from this website. Install it and move your php files into root folder of wamp which is usually www , if your server software is different than it would be htdocs.

Now,as you moved all your files to the root folder of Apache Server ,check whether your server is working or not, by typing localhost/your_folder_name/file_name.php into the address bar of your browser. If you get the expected output then everything is working fine and you can move to step 2.

2.Hosting server needs Static Ip address , if you have that then move to step 3 , if you don't have static ip address or don't even know the meaning of ip then read this step :

Whenever one computer connects with another computer on any network it needs a unique address like we need home address to get our letters, this address is called IP (Internet Protocol) Address which is like 198.168.8.8. Whenever we connect to the internet , our Internet Service Provider allots IP address to our computer from a range of IP Addresses ,this type of allotment is called dynamic if it changes whenever we reconnect our internet and the similar address is called static when it doesn't change irrespective of our connecting or disconnecting.

Static cost us more price than dynamic and usually common user don't need static ip at all.

If you don't have static ip , I assume you don't then you should try searching some good dynamic dns web service on google , which would provide you service for free to use your existing dynamic address to host website.

3. If you are using broadband as I do then you need to change factory settings of your modem , so that it can forward any request on port 80 to your localhost wamp server.

There are many ways to do so, each vary with different modems but generally you should type 192.168.1.1 in your address bar which opens up your modem control panel. If it asks for username and password and you don't know them, just type admin as username and password both(It usually works). After that click on Add NAT which is in Advanced Setting Tab of your modem home page. In NAT, write 80 for both UDP and TCP in there respective boxes. 80 is a Port number which is used for Web Services like http requests. Select both TCP and UDP as your packet types and in IP address, type your computer's ip address which you can find using ipconfig in command prompt.

4. Add Exception to all of your firewalls so that they allow any request from port 80 on your computer.You can find windows firewall in Control Panel.

Step 1. Open terminal and execute this command : sudo apt-get install mysql-server libmysqlclient-dev libmysql-ruby

Step3. Now ,install mysql gem : sudo gem install mysql

Step4. Configure your database.yml : sudo gedit configure/database.yml

In Ubuntu, beginners often face this problem of saving or editing document having permission of read and write only to root.

This problem can be solved in two ways :

1. Open Terminal ( Ctrl + Alt + t) , then open the file using "sudo" , for example if I want to open file "xyz", I can open it using sudo gedit xyz .

2. Or you can change permission of this file using chmod command.After changing permission for all users to 777 . You can able to edit that file without any problem.

How to connect two computers using LAN ?

Step 1 .

For windows XP users :

Start ->Settings->Network Connections

Search Local Area Network icon and right click and select properties

Select Internet protocol (TCP/IP) and click on properties button.

Set IP address for both the computers. Remember they must be unique for both of them. For eg if you choose "192.168.1.1" for your first computer then choose "192.168.1.2" for other computer. IP address is address of computer from which it is recognized in networks.

Below the IP Address there is box called Subnet Mask, put 255.255.255.0 in it and click ok.

Please Note, You need to do above steps in both the computers.

Windows 7 :

Start -->Control Panel -> Network and Internet-->Network and Sharing Centre

Click on Change Adapter Settings

There will be icon of Local Area Networking , right click on it and follow the steps given above for windows XP.

Step 2 :

Build a Work Group :

Windows XP :

Start --> Control Panel --> System

In the dialog box click on Computer Name Tab .

Give the name for your computer such as Home1 , or Laptop1 etc.Do the same thing for your other computer.
Also give name to your workgroup such as Home Workgroup or Office workgroup.

After giving name to the computers , in the bottom of dialog box at Member of Workgroup , type the name of your new workgroup as mentioned in above step.Follow the same procedure in both the computers.Remember both the computers have different name, different IPs but it workgroup name should be the same for both the computers.

Now Restart both the computers.

For Windows 7 :

Start -->Control Panel -->System and Security -->System and click on change settings. Follow the same procedure as we did in windows XP above.

Step 3 : Test your LAN

Start -->Settings-->Network Settings and click on My Network Places ad then click on Entire Network and the double click on Microsoft windows network.

You will see Workgroup Name. When you will double click on it , you will see the name of your other computer.Congratulations your both computers are connected now.

Windows 7 :

Start -->Control Panel-->Network and Internet -->Home Group You will see the name of other computer.

As of now I have found out two solutions for that :

1. Factory Reset of your device : It is easy but remember all your applications and data would be wipe out from your device.

2. Clear Data method , Clear data from all google applications installed in your device. I read this solution in some forums but it has not worked for me. But , it worth try.

I was following rails tutorial book and found "no route matches" error.
I found funny and simple solution of this problem , just restart your computer and start rails server using "rails s" command in sample_app directory. Its done.

Why rails giving this error?

Because it is taking application root of demo_app instead of sample_app, for that reason we need to restart our rail server. I didn't found simple solution for doing that so restarting computer itself does the trick for me.

Step 1. Open Application -> Accessories -> Terminal

Step 2. Change directory where your bin file is stored. If you are beginner , change directory command is cd , for example cd filename .

Step 3. Now make this bin file executable . Just type chmod +x filename.bin

Step4. Run it using this command ./filename.bin

I got lot of queries regarding this question. I am amazed that why blackberry is not doing something about it. There is not one key solution for this problem, but using other functions of our bb phone we can solve this problem.

Step 1. Open call log

Step 2. Select Phone Number

Step 3. Press Menu Key and select copy

Step 4. Now open your contacts from your device

Step 5. Select name of the person where you want to put this new number

Step 6. Press menu key and select edit

Step 7. Paste new number.

I know this is not the best solution but I am working on it. As soon as I found something else, I will upload it.

Getting good score in gre require hard work , lot of reading and regular studies. If you are here in search of easy methods then you are at wrong place. In this post I am writing about methods which will help you to score good marks.

Before going any further first of all you should know that what is Gre ? It is divided into two sections Verbal and Quant.

Verbal

To score more in Verbal you will need only two Vocabulary and Practice.

To improve Vocabulary

1.Word power made easy (Must have) : Great book for gre students. It will make it easier for you to learn words.

2. Read Op-Ed articles from newspaper.Try to find main idea of author.

3.Avoid dictionary as much as you can .Try to find meaning yourself by reading sentence again and again. If it does not work that you should write this word with meaning from dictionary with two or three sentence.

4.Start reading books both fiction and non fiction.

5.Listen to BBC Radio daily.

Practice

Practice as much as possible. Give tests and analyze your result. Reading comprehension needs a lot of practice. Sentence completion start to become easier after doing 4 to 5 tests.

Quant

In my opinion Quant is much easier than Verbal for most of the students. But taking it too lightly can cause harm.

Buy Barron's and start solving it topic wise. Plan that you will solve at least one topic daily. That is sufficient for Quant.

I am giving you setting of ZTE wireless modem whose driver are not available in ubuntu. For other models of tata photon + , you can get tutorial from here .

So you have ubuntu and photon + in your hand but you don't know how to connect internet using them. I am giving you simple steps to do this task assuming that your beginner for linux.

Step 1. You need to download wvdial packages. If you are not connected with internet download them using other machine having internet. Download and install them in same sequence as given :

1. http://packages.debian.org/lenny/i386/libxplc0.3.13/download
2. http://packages.debian.org/lenny/i386/libwvstreams4.4-base/download
3. http://packages.debian.org/lenny/i386/libwvstreams4.4-extras/download
4. http://packages.debian.org/lenny/i386/libuniconf4.4/download
5. http://packages.debian.org/lenny/i386/wvdial/download

Step 2. After downloading , open Applications --> Accessories --> Terminal

Step 3. Type : sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf

paste and save the following code into wvdial.conf file :

[Dialer Defaults]
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
Modem Type = Analog Modem
Baud = 9600
New PPPD = yes
Modem = /dev/ttyUSB0
ISDN = 0

[Dialer netconnect]
Username = internet
Password = internet
Phone = #777
Stupid Mode = 1
Inherits = Modem0

Step 4. Type lsusb , find out string next to ID , It is something like xxxx:yyyy . Here xxxx is used for vendor and yyyy is for product. You don't need to go in detail just remember to connect your photon to computer before using this command. If you are confuse that which ID is for your Device then you can use these tricks, most probably the device which I am talking about has ffff as value for its product or you can disconnect your device from machine and use same command , value which is missing is your device id.

Step5. In terminal type : sudo modprobe usbserial vendor= 0x19d2 product=0xffff ( in my case , type your xxxx and yyyy values) Please note here x is not multiply sign(*)

Step6. Type : sudo wvdial

Step7. Don't close terminal window and open firefox and enjoy your internet.

Step8. For disconnecting , open your terminal window and press ctrl + c .

I tried to make this tutorial as simple as possible but if you find any difficulty in setting up your device, feel free to leave comment and ask about it.

Indian parents are typically Indian. They force you to believe that generation gap still exist. But I can assure that by using few tricks you can deal with them easily.

1. Never hurt there ego : If your parent asks you to do something or tell you to act in particular way never say NO directly. Just say Yes i will try but I don't wanna do it because

"say whatever you want in explanatory form with points" .

Note: If they are with there friends or relatives never argue with them and do not apply above method. Whether you'll follow there instruction or not simply say YES, of-course.

Wait for the time when they would be alone and then talk to them about that issue.

Situation 1: They are not allowing you for night out with friends.

First of all select a parent who is easier to tackle and cool minded. ( Most probably your Mom)
Tell her what people do in night out? how much they benefit from it socially? How intelligent your friends are( they aren't !) but say it

You don't need to tell her that you wanna go out , she figures it out herself. Then ask her "Mom please help me to take permission from DAD for night out.

If Mom says she can't . Make her believe that she can and in that process if she tells that she can't give you permission because "xyz" . Counter attack these points one by one from x to z.

Somehow (most probably) she gets ready. Let her get permission for you , if she gets then done if she can't then you still have a chance to convince your father with some promises such that I will study hard, I will never do things you don't like. I will come early in the morning things like that.

2.Share few minutes with them daily : Make a habit to talk to them daily. If you stay away from home then call them whenever possible. Tell them about your day , what happen in office or in school. What's happening around you. This will help them to understand you better and will let them know how you and your generation think.

3.Parents are not enemy : They are not your enemy. Always remember whenever you get into trouble they will help you more in comparison to anyone else. If they don't like something about you or they don't like your friend , then think about this impartially. Find out reason's why don't? If you figure out that they are wrong then present yourself with your point of view and reason.

Eyes are one of the most important part of our body. Do you think how much we care about them? Eyes do not need extra care but by doing some little changes they will get there deserved care.

1. Whenever possible try to see as far as possible.

2. If your computer user , give rest to your eyes in every half hour by looking away from the screen for two minutes and if possible by washing them with cold water. Remember to fill your mouth with water before doing that.

3.Do eye exercise by moving your eye lids from left to right, top to bottom.

4. If you know something about Triphala ( Ayurveda Medicine ) wash your eyes every morning with it. Procedure : Take a glass of water and put one spoon triphala in it. Leave it for night and In the morning filter it with some cloth and after that wash your eyes with this filtered solution.

5. Drink as much water as you can.

6. Rub your hand and move them gently on and around your eyes.

7. While watching TV , remember to blink your eyes in regular intervals.

These are some basic tips based on my experience and readings but still I am not a doctor , concern expert for guidance.

Multiple choice questions are not that easy as they appear. But if you know the correct way to approach the test it will become much more easier for you.

1. Never guess in negative marking questions.

2. If there is any function in the question , use substitution method. For eg is f(x)=x+1 and to prove something there are four options for the value of x. Put these four options (one by one) in above function. Most probably you will get the answer.

3. If you get the answer easily, check your method again. Objective question are not likely to be straight forward. For eg Add 10 percent area of circle in it's own area and then subtract 10 percent from area you get. What's the remaining area? Its straight answer is "equal" ; but it is not and you know why?

4. If you wanna guess something in objective question guess most awkward answer in the options. For eg if there are four values given such as (a) 1 (b) 3 (c) 5 and (d) root 3 * 5

Then choose root 3 * 5 , Trust me, you'll never regret.

5. Never give too much time to any single question but attempt as many question as you can. Most of the student give lack of time as a reason of there failure.

6. When you start your preparation , do it as you wanna get best grade in exam and when you write your exam don't expect anything from you. It will ease your pressure.

Wifi Settings
i. Open the browser and type the url http://192.168.1.1.
ii. Type username admin and password admin in login window.
iii. Click on the ‘Interface Setup’ on menu bar and select ‘Internet’. See that the VPI value is ‘0’ and VCI value is ‘35’. Select ISP as PPPoA/PPPoE. Enter username and password (given by BSNL) and click on Save.

Wi-Fi Security Configuration:

i. Click on ‘Interface Setup’ and select ‘Wireless’
ii. Select authentication type Wep-128Bits and enter 13 digit key. ( You need to configure same key in your laptop/PC)

Case studies are done to check your analytical thinking and reasoning. To crack case study interviews :

1.Answer confidently with complete analysis and reasons.

2.Avoid using strong words such as "must be" , " definitely" , etc. You should use word's like "In my opinion", "this should be" .

3.Case studies do not have perfect answers, so keep eye contact and close look on interviewer body language.

4. Listen question carefully and if you don't understand it, ask to repeat ( Do not hesitate).

5.Interviewer wanna find out ,you get to the conclusion with limited facts or not. So, you have to give specific reasons for your facts.

6. Let the Interviewer know what your thinking.

Transferring files from blackberry to computer is not as difficult as it appears. To transfer file you need to have Blackberry desktop manager. You will find this software in a kit which comes with blackberry or you can download it from here. After downloading , follow these steps :

Connect your device to your computer.
Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Click Media Manager.
Drag a file or folder from one location to another

This method can be used for various other purposes such as transfer files from :

Nokia to Blackberry or vice versa :

First of all sync your nokia files using Nokia Pc Suite or Ovi solution. Open "My Computer" , you will find new disk drive for Nokia Phone.

Open it and transfer files from Nokia Phone to computer and with the above method transfer them to Blackberry.

1. Open Dataone Website which is dataone.in .

2. Click on Usage Detail portal which is at the bottom on right hand side as shown.

3.Enter your Portal Id and password .

4.Now click on View your Post Paid Usage.

5.Its done , now select the month which broadband usage you wanna see.
