How to import database using Mysql query browser in ubuntu?

Many times we want to shift our database from one machine to another. I faced similar situation when I want to shift my database from external server to my own. While shifting , I was using ubuntu operating system and mysql query browser as a tool. Though, it is pretty easy but I think it would be useful information for you.

Step 1 . Open Mysql Query Browser

Step2. Right click in Schemeta Option and select create Schema

Step3. Put your database name

Step4. Now Click on File(Alt + F)  and select open script

Step5. Select script which you want to import and click on execute.

Calculator on the Go

Most often we need to use calculator.Many of us use windows operating system at our home computer and use calculator provided by Microsoft.When we use other OS or devices , we miss windows calculator. Recently, Google provided solution for this problem. They introduced online calculator in their search engine which is not only easy to use but embedded in search itself.

You can use google calculator by using following steps:

1. Open Google.com

2. Type Calculator in the search box

3. Virtual Calculator will appear on your screen which you can use using your mouse or fingers(touchpad).

How to reset default search engine in firefox address bar?

Firefox has come with google as its default search engine, but sometime because of some software, it changes to other search engines such as Ask.com. Recently, I myself faced this problem and thought to share with you.

While we could easily change search engine in the right hand side toolbar by clicking the icon of current search engine and then clicking manage search engine, but in the case of url address bar, we need to open about:config from url. It is very easy to do and three steps procedure:

1. Type about:config  in your url bar and press enter
2. Click on I will be carefull I promise
3. Search for browser.search , Right click and Reset it to default. That's it!

How to increase your mobile phone battery life?

How many times this happens to you when you need to make or receive some important call your mobile phone battery gets down. This often happens with me and eventually I counter this problem with three dimensional strategy which is reduce wastage, keep an eye and backup.

I will discuss all three in details:

First, How to reduce wastage?

Screen Brightness: You should set your smartphone brightness yourself because automatic setting keeps on changing brightness and needs more energy.Furthermore, set small timeout to save some battery juice.

Wireless Connectivity:
Even though some functions such as EDGE,3G, Wifi,Bluetooth and GPS are very useful,but these functions consumes most of the amount of battery.When these functions are not in use,you should switch off them.

Push Notification:
If push notification of your phone is on then it keeps on checking for updates. It makes use of data connectivity or Wifi regularly. Some devices has ability to display these notification with voice. These notifications significantly affect the battery.

Background Tasks:
By default ,application keeps on running when you press home button, moreover, this way smartphone functions multitasking but on the other side consumes hardware resources and battery. To get out of app completely, use task manager and close applications manually.



Tips for Iphone

Location Service : 
To provide content and service some apps use Location Service. These apps do this task using wifi and GPS. It effects battery life badly. Go in settings and disable location service for application where it doesn't require.

System Service: 
Go into settings->Location Service->System Services and switch off location based Iads, Diagnostics,Usage,Traffic and Automatic time zone updates.

Tips for Android

Check Battery Uses: Go into Settings -->Application and check battery use. Disable or uninstall apps whom you are not using since long time, it will greatly improve battery life.

GPS Location: Android location settings use wireless network or GPS Satellites to find your location.If you want to close them, go into Settings-->Locations and Securities and switch off 'Use GPS Satellite" and 'Assisted GPS'.
